The Operator's Codex: Hacking the Legal Framework of 1win Kenya
Registration and participation are strictly limited to individuals who have reached the age of 18 years or older. 1win Kenya reserves the right to suspend any account immediately if the user's age is questionable and to permanently close it upon conclusive evidence of underage gambling, with all winnings voided.
Identity Verification (KYC)
To comply with regulatory standards from the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) and anti-money laundering regulations, all Users must successfully pass a robust Know Your Customer (KYC) check.
- Documentation: You must provide accurate, current, and complete personal data, including a valid Kenyan National ID/Passport and proof of mobile number registration in your name.
- Fund Source: You warrant that all funds deposited into your 1win account originate from a legitimate source and are not tainted by any illegality.
Account Security and Responsibility
The Customer is solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials (Username, PIN, and Password). 1win Kenya shall not be held liable for any loss or damage incurred as a result of unauthorized access or use of your account. You must notify our Customer Support immediately if you suspect any security breach.
2. Financial Transactions, Payments, and Tax
2.1 Deposits and Withdrawals
1win Kenya primarily utilizes local mobile money platforms (M-Pesa, Airtel Money) for KES transactions.
- Source of Funds: Only deposits from a mobile number registered in the exact name of the 1win account holder will be accepted.
- Withdrawal Method: Withdrawals will, by default, be processed back to the mobile number used for the latest deposit, serving as an additional security measure.
2.2 Withholding Tax on Payouts
Please note that all winning payouts are subject to a compulsory 20% Withholding Tax ("WHT") as mandated by the Kenyan Government. This tax is automatically deducted by 1win Kenya at the point of withdrawal and remitted to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). The payout amount received by the User is the net amount after this WHT deduction.
2.3 Transaction Fees
While 1win Kenya strives to cover most transaction costs, we reserve the right to apply reasonable administrative fees on deposits or withdrawals, particularly where the User requests high-frequency or small-value transactions that incur excessive network costs.
3. Betting Rules and Event Contingencies
3.1 Voiding of Bets
1win Kenya reserves the right to void any bet in full or in part under the following circumstances:
- Palpable Error: Where the posted odds, handicaps, or lines are clearly incorrect or display a serious deviation from the true market price.
- Betting After Event Start: Pre-match bets placed after the scheduled start time will be voided (settled at odds of 1.0), except for clearly designated Live Betting markets.
- Collision or Syndication: Where the Company reasonably suspects that a group of Users is acting in concert to exploit an error or promotion.
3.2 Settlement of Postponed Events
If a sporting event is postponed, the general rule is that all bets will remain valid provided the event is completed within 72 hours of the original starting time. If the event is not completed within this extended period, or is permanently cancelled, all stakes will be refunded.
